Description
APMAP Antibody (PACO18574)
The APMAP Polyclonal Antibody (PAC018574) is a valuable tool for researchers studying APMAP, a protein involved in various biological processes, including lipid metabolism and cell proliferation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high specificity for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the APMAP protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of APMAP expression in different cell types, making it ideal for studies in metabolism, cell biology, and cancer research.
APMAP, also known as adipocyte plasma membrane-associated protein, plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism and has been implicated in the progression of certain types of cancer. Understanding the function and regulation of APMAP can provide insights into mechanisms of disease and potential therapeutic targets. This antibody offers researchers a reliable tool for investigating the role of APMAP in various physiological and pathological processes.

Background: | C20orf3, also known as APMAP (adipocyte plasma membrane-associated protein), is a 416 amino acid, single-pass type II membrane protein that belongs to the strictosidine synthase family and is thought to play a role in adipocyte differentiation. The gene encoding C20orf3 maps to human chromosome 20, which houses over 600 genes some of which are associated with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, spinal muscular atrophy, ring chromosome 20 epilepsy syndrome and Alagille syndrome. Additionally, chromosome 20 contains a region with numerous genes which are thought important for seminal production and may be potential targets for male contraception |
