The APC Anti-Mouse CD62L Antibody (MEL-14) available at assaygenie.com is a vital tool for researchers studying immune responses in mice. This antibody specifically targets CD62L, a cell surface molecule crucial for lymphocyte migration and homing to secondary lymphoid organs. By binding to CD62L, the antibody enables precise detection and analysis of this key protein in various cell types, making it an invaluable asset in immunology research.CD62L, also known as L-selectin, plays a pivotal role in immune cell trafficking and activation, facilitating interactions between lymphocytes and endothelial cells during inflammatory responses. Understanding the expression and function of CD62L is essential for unraveling the complexities of immune cell behavior in health and disease, particularly in conditions such as inflammation, infection, and autoimmune disorders.
With its high specificity and reliability, the APC Anti-Mouse CD62L Antibody (MEL-14) offers researchers a powerful tool to investigate the intricate mechanisms governing immune cell movement and activation in mouse models. Whether studying immune responses in infectious diseases, autoimmune conditions, or cancer, this antibody provides accurate and reproducible results, driving advancements in our understanding of immune system regulation and therapeutic development.

Background:
CD62L is a 74-95 kD glycoprotein also known as L-selectin, LECAM-1, Ly-22, LAM-1, and MEL-14. It is a member of the selectin family and is expressed on the majority of B and naïve T cells, a subset of memory T cells, monocytes, granulocytes, most thymocytes, and a subset of NK cells. CD62L is important in lymphocyte homing to high endothelial venules (HEV) in peripheral lymph nodes and leukocyte 'rolling' on activated endothelium. CD62L also contributes to neutrophil emigration at inflammatory sites. CD62L is rapidly shed from lymphocytes and neutrophils upon cellular activation and the expression levels of CD62L (in conjunction with other markers) have been used to distinguish naïve, effector, and memory T cells. CD62L has been reported to interact with CD34, GlyCAM-1, and MAdCAM-1.
