The Mouse Anti-CD51 Antibody (Clone RMV-7) is a powerful tool for researchers studying integrin beta-3 (CD51) expression levels in mouse samples. This monoclonal antibody, produced through hybridoma technology, specifically targets CD51, a crucial integrin involved in cell adhesion and migration processes. Validated for use in various applications, such as flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry, this antibody provides reliable detection and analysis of CD51 expression in different cell types.Integrins are essential cell surface proteins that mediate interactions between cells and their environment, playing key roles in processes like cell adhesion, migration, and signaling. CD51 is a subunit of integrin alpha-V beta-3, a receptor implicated in diverse biological functions, including angiogenesis, osteoclast function, and tumor metastasis.
By targeting CD51, researchers can gain insights into the functions and regulation of this integrin, particularly in the context of cancer biology, developmental biology, and tissue remodeling. The Mouse Anti-CD51 Antibody (Clone RMV-7) offers high specificity and sensitivity in detecting CD51 expression, making it an invaluable tool for investigating the role of integrin beta-3 in various physiological and pathological conditions. Whether studying cell adhesion mechanisms, tumor progression, or vascular development, this antibody provides researchers with a reliable means to explore the functions of CD51 and its implications in health and disease.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use. We suggest each investigator should titrate the reagent to obtain optimal results [The recommended concentration is 0.1-1 μg/106 cells in 100 μL volume].

Background:
CD51 is a 140 kD protein, also known as αV integrin, vitronectin receptor, and integrin αV. It is a member of the integrin family, expressed on activated T cells, polymorphonuclear granulocytes, platelets, blastocysts, and osteoclasts. CD51 forms heterodimers by association with integrins β1, β3, β5 or β6; these complexes then act as receptors for multiple extracellular matrix proteins (ECM). The αvintegrin heterodimers have varied functions in development, stimulation/activation and homeostasis. The primary ligands for CD51 complexes are fibronectin, fibrinogen, vitronectin, thrombspondin, von Willebrand factor, and CD31. The RMV-7 antibody has been reported to block binding of CD51 to vitronectin, fibronectin, and CD31 in some cell types, as well as blocking LAK cell cytotoxicity.
