The Mouse CD36 Monoclonal Antibody (HM36) is a powerful tool for researchers studying CD36, a multifunctional cell surface receptor involved in lipid metabolism, immune response modulation, and inflammation regulation. This antibody, generated against the mouse CD36 protein, exhibits exceptional specificity and sensitivity in various applications, including flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry.CD36, also known as scavenger receptor class B member 3 (SR-B3), is a transmembrane glycoprotein with diverse biological functions, including lipid uptake, phagocytosis, and signal transduction. Its involvement in processes like fatty acid metabolism and atherogenesis makes it a key player in metabolic disorders and cardiovascular diseases.
Additionally, CD36 plays a crucial role in innate immunity by recognizing pathogen-associated molecular patterns and facilitating microbial clearance.By utilizing the Mouse CD36 Monoclonal Antibody (HM36), researchers can explore the intricate mechanisms underlying CD36-mediated processes in various cell types and tissues. This antibody enables precise detection and visualization of CD36 expression, providing valuable insights into its role in health and disease. Incorporating this antibody into your research arsenal opens up opportunities to investigate new therapeutic targets and strategies for conditions related to lipid metabolism, immune dysregulation, and cardiovascular health.

Background:
CD36 is a 85 kD glycoprotein, also known as FAT, gpIIIb, or gpIV. It is a member of the class B scavenger receptor family, expressed on platelets, monocytes, macrophages, megakaryocytes, microvasculature, dendritic cells and mammary endothelial cells. The primary ligands for CD36 have been reported to be oxidized low density lipoprotein, anionic phospholipids, and collagens I, IV, and V. CD36 acts as a scavenger receptor thus promoting the removal of apoptotic neutrophils and other apoptotic bodies, as well as clearance of defective erythrocytes.
