The Human/Mouse IL-5 Monoclonal Antibody (TRFK5) offered by AssayGenie (AGEL3281) is a specialized tool for researchers studying interleukin-5 (IL-5) in human and mouse samples. This monoclonal antibody, derived from hybridoma cells, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity in detecting IL-5 protein levels. Validated for use in various immunoassays, such as ELISA and western blot, TRFK5 enables precise quantification and visualization of IL-5 expression in a wide range of biological samples.IL-5 is a key cytokine involved in the regulation of eosinophil development and activation, playing a crucial role in allergic responses and asthma.
By targeting IL-5, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying eosinophil-mediated inflammation and explore potential therapeutic strategies for allergic diseases. The TRFK5 antibody provides a reliable tool for investigating IL-5 functions in immune responses, respiratory conditions, and other IL-5-associated diseases, contributing to advancements in immunology and drug development.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
IL-5 is a homodimeric, disulphide-linked protein produced by T-cells. Monomeric human IL-5 is a 126 amino acid protein with a reported molecular weight of 26 kD for the homodimeric protein. Mouse and human IL-5 are approximately 70% identical. IL-5 has been shown to promote the growth of immature hematopoietic BFU-E progenitors, stimulate the activation and differentiation of eosinophils, and promote the generation of cytotoxic lymphocytes. Mouse IL-5 induces the differentiation and proliferation of pre-activated B-cells and stimulates the production and secretion of IgM and IgA by B-cells stimulated with bacterial endotoxin. The TRFK5 antibody can neutralize the bioactivity of natural or recombinant IL-5.
