The APBA1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB18582) is a valuable tool for researchers studying APBA1, a protein involved in cellular signaling and synaptic transmission. This rabbit polyclonal antibody is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the APBA1 protein, this antibody allows for the accurate detection and analysis of APBA1 in various cell types, making it ideal for research in neuroscience and neurodegenerative diseases.
APBA1, also known as amyloid beta A4 precursor protein-binding family A member 1, plays a crucial role in the regulation of synaptic function and plasticity. Its involvement in Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders has garnered significant interest in the scientific community. Understanding the function of APBA1 is essential for developing therapeutic strategies to target neurodegenerative diseases and improve cognitive function in patients.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the X11 protein family. It is a neuronal adapter protein that interacts with the Alzheimer's disease amyloid precursor protein (APP). It stabilizes APP and inhibits production of proteolytic APP fragments including the A beta peptide that is deposited in the brains of Alzheimer's disease patients. This gene product is believed to be involved in signal transduction processes. It is also regarded as a putative vesicular trafficking protein in the brain that can form a complex with the potential to couple synaptic vesicle exocytosis to neuronal cell adhesion.
