The Zyxin Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2298) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Zyxin, a cytoskeletal protein involved in cell adhesion and migration. This antibody, raised in rabbits, has high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blotting and immunofluorescence applications. By binding to the Zyxin protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of Zyxin in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in cell biology and cancer research.
Zyxin is a key player in the regulation of actin cytoskeleton dynamics and cell motility, making it relevant to processes such as cell migration, wound healing, and tumor metastasis. Its involvement in these cellular functions underscores its importance in cancer progression and other pathologies. By investigating the role of Zyxin, researchers aim to deepen our understanding of disease mechanisms and potentially identify new therapeutic targets for cancer and other conditions.

Focal adhesions are actin-rich structures that enable cells to adhere to the extracellular matrix and at which protein complexes involved in signal transduction assemble. Zyxin is a zinc-binding phosphoprotein that concentrates at focal adhesions and along the actin cytoskeleton. Zyxin has an N-terminal proline-rich domain and three LIM domains in its C-terminal half. The proline-rich domain may interact with SH3 domains of proteins involved in signal transduction pathways while the LIM domains are likely involved in protein-protein binding. Zyxin may function as a messenger in the signal transduction pathway that mediates adhesion-stimulated changes in gene expression and may modulate the cytoskeletal organization of actin bundles. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same isoform.
