The SERCA1 (ATP2A1) Polyclonal Antibody (CAB19639) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the SERCA1 protein, which plays a crucial role in regulating calcium transport in cells. This antibody, raised in rabbits, has high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications.SERCA1, also known as ATPase Ca++ transporting cardiac muscle fast-twitch 1, is essential for maintaining calcium homeostasis in muscle cells. Dysregulation of SERCA1 has been linked to various diseases including muscular dystrophy, heart failure, and neurodegenerative disorders.
Research on this protein is vital for understanding its role in cellular function and disease pathology. The SERCA1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB19639) enables precise detection and analysis of the SERCA1 protein in different cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in cell biology, muscle physiology, and cardiovascular research. By targeting SERCA1, researchers can gain insights into mechanisms underlying disease progression and develop therapeutic strategies to modulate calcium signaling pathways.

Immunogen:
A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 900-1001 of human SERCA1/ATP2A1 (O14983).
This gene encodes one of the SERCA Ca(2+)-ATPases, which are intracellular pumps located in the sarcoplasmic or endoplasmic reticula of muscle cells. This enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the translocation of calcium from the cytosol to the sarcoplasmic reticulum lumen, and is involved in muscular excitation and contraction. Mutations in this gene cause some autosomal recessive forms of Brody disease, characterized by increasing impairment of muscular relaxation during exercise. Alternative splicing results in three transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
