The PSMA/FOLH1 Antibody (CAB9547) is a highly specific and sensitive tool for research involving Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA), also known as Folate Hydrolase 1 (FOLH1). This antibody is raised in rabbits and has been validated for use in various applications, including Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry.PSMA/FOLH1 is a cell surface marker that is overexpressed in prostate cancer cells, making it an attractive target for cancer research and therapy development. The antibody binds specifically to PSMA/FOLH1, allowing for the detection and analysis of this protein in different cell types and tissue samples.
Its high reactivity with human samples makes it an essential tool for studying the role of PSMA/FOLH1 in cancer progression and metastasis.Research into PSMA/FOLH1 is essential for understanding its role in prostate cancer biology and developing targeted therapies that can improve patient outcomes. By utilizing the PSMA/FOLH1 Antibody (CAB9547), researchers can gain valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying prostate cancer development and potentially identify new strategies for treating this deadly disease.

This gene encodes a type II transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the M28 peptidase family. The protein acts as a glutamate carboxypeptidase on different alternative substrates, including the nutrient folate and the neuropeptide N-acetyl-l-aspartyl-l-glutamate and is expressed in a number of tissues such as prostate, central and peripheral nervous system and kidney. A mutation in this gene may be associated with impaired intestinal absorption of dietary folates, resulting in low blood folate levels and consequent hyperhomocysteinemia. Expression of this protein in the brain may be involved in a number of pathological conditions associated with glutamate excitotoxicity. In the prostate the protein is up-regulated in cancerous cells and is used as an effective diagnostic and prognostic indicator of prostate cancer. This gene likely arose from a duplication event of a nearby chromosomal region. Alternative splicing gives rise to multiple transcript variants encoding several different isoforms.
