The PLod3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB21066) is a critical tool for researchers studying PLod3, an enzyme involved in collagen production and extracellular matrix remodeling. This antibody, developed in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the PLod3 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in various cell types, making it an essential component for investigations in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology.PLod3, also known as procollagen-lysine, 2-oxoglutarate 5-dioxygenase 3, plays a crucial role in collagen biosynthesis by catalyzing the hydroxylation of lysine residues.
Dysregulation of PLod3 activity has been linked to various diseases, including fibrosis, osteogenesis imperfecta, and cancer metastasis. As such, studying the function of PLod3 is essential for elucidating its involvement in these pathologies and may lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies targeting collagen metabolism.Overall, the PLod3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB21066) serves as a valuable tool for researchers seeking to explore the intricate mechanisms underlying collagen synthesis and deposition, paving the way for advancements in the fields of connective tissue biology and cancer research.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 25-306 of human PLOD3 (NP_001075.1).
The protein encoded by this gene is a membrane-bound homodimeric enzyme that is localized to the cisternae of the rough endoplasmic reticulum. The enzyme (cofactors iron and ascorbate) catalyzes the hydroxylation of lysyl residues in collagen-like peptides. The resultant hydroxylysyl groups are attachment sites for carbohydrates in collagen and thus are critical for the stability of intermolecular crosslinks. Some patients with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type VIB have deficiencies in lysyl hydroxylase activity.
