The Anti-Phospho-PDHA1 (S293) Antibody (CABP1250) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the phosphorylation of PDHA1, a key regulatory enzyme in the mitochondrial pyruvate dehydrogenase complex. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for the phosphorylated form of PDHA1 at serine 293 and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.Phosphorylation of PDHA1 at serine 293 plays a crucial role in regulating the activity of the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, which is essential for converting pyruvate into acetyl-CoA in the citric acid cycle.
Dysregulation of this process has been implicated in various metabolic disorders, making the Anti-Phospho-PDHA1 (S293) Antibody a valuable tool for researchers investigating mitochondrial function and metabolism. With its high specificity and sensitivity, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis of phosphorylated PDHA1 in a variety of cell types and tissues. Its application in research on metabolic diseases, cancer metabolism, and mitochondrial function makes it an essential tool for scientists studying the regulation of cellular energy metabolism.

The pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) complex is a nuclear-encoded mitochondrial multienzyme complex that catalyzes the overall conversion of pyruvate to acetyl-CoA and CO(2), and provides the primary link between glycolysis and the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle. The PDH complex is composed of multiple copies of three enzymatic components: pyruvate dehydrogenase (E1), dihydrolipoamide acetyltransferase (E2) and lipoamide dehydrogenase (E3). The E1 enzyme is a heterotetramer of two alpha and two beta subunits. This gene encodes the E1 alpha 1 subunit containing the E1 active site, and plays a key role in the function of the PDH complex. Mutations in this gene are associated with pyruvate dehydrogenase E1-alpha deficiency and X-linked Leigh syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
