The Anti-Parathyroid Hormone (PTH) Antibody (CAB9704) is a valuable tool for researchers studying parathyroid hormone, a key regulator of calcium and phosphorus homeostasis in the body. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific and reactive with human samples, making it ideal for use in various applications including Western blotting and immunohistochemistry.Parathyroid hormone plays a crucial role in bone metabolism, kidney function, and calcium absorption in the gut. Dysregulation of PTH levels can lead to bone disorders such as osteoporosis, as well as conditions like hyperparathyroidism and hypoparathyroidism.
Understanding the expression and function of PTH in different tissues and disease states is important for developing targeted therapies and diagnostic tools. The Anti-PTH Antibody enables accurate detection and quantification of PTH levels in biological samples, allowing researchers to study the role of this hormone in normal physiology and disease. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it a reliable tool for investigating PTH signaling pathways and potential therapeutic interventions for PTH-related disorders.
This gene encodes a member of the parathyroid family of proteins. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate a protein that binds to the parathyroid hormone/parathyroid hormone-related peptide receptor and regulates blood calcium and phosphate levels. Excess production of the encoded protein, known as hyperparathyroidism, can result in hypercalcemia and kidney stones. On the other hand, defective processing of the encoded protein may lead to hypoparathyroidism, which can result in hypocalcemia and numbness. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
