The NUP153 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB8970) is a valuable tool for researchers studying nucleoporin 153 (NUP153), a crucial component of the nuclear pore complex involved in nucleocytoplasmic transport. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.NUP153 is known to play a key role in the regulation of nuclear transport and gene expression, making it a target of interest in various fields such as cell biology, virology, and cancer research. By binding specifically to NUP153, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of this protein in different cell types, providing valuable insights into its function.
The significance of NUP153 in fundamental cellular processes makes it a promising target for studying diseases related to nuclear transport dysfunction, such as viral infections and certain types of cancer. By investigating the function of NUP153 using this antibody, researchers can further our understanding of the underlying mechanisms of these diseases and potentially identify new therapeutic targets.

Nuclear pore complexes regulate the transport of macromolecules between the nucleus and cytoplasm. They are composed of at least 100 different polypeptide subunits, many of which belong to the nucleoporin family. Nucleoporins are glycoproteins found in nuclear pores and contain characteristic pentapeptide XFXFG repeats as well as O-linked N-acetylglucosamine residues oriented towards the cytoplasm. The protein encoded by this gene has three distinct domains: a N-terminal region containing a pore targeting and an RNA-binding domain domain, a central region containing multiple zinc finger motifs, and a C-terminal region containing multiple XFXFG repeats. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants of this gene.
