The Anti-Insulin Antibody (CAB2090) offered by Assay Genie is a powerful tool for researchers studying insulin signaling pathways and related metabolic processes. This polyclonal antibody, developed for use in various experimental applications, is highly specific and sensitive for detecting insulin in human samples.Insulin is a key hormone involved in regulating blood sugar levels and is essential for proper metabolism. Dysregulation of insulin signaling is implicated in various diseases such as diabetes and metabolic syndrome, making it a critical target for research and therapeutic development.
The Anti-Insulin Antibody allows for precise detection and analysis of insulin levels in cell lysates, serum, and tissue samples, enabling researchers to explore the role of insulin in health and disease. With its high reactivity and reliability in Western blot applications, the Anti-Insulin Antibody is a valuable tool for studies in endocrinology, diabetes research, and metabolic disorders. By providing accurate and reproducible results, this antibody contributes to advancing our understanding of insulin biology and its implications for human health.

This gene encodes insulin, a peptide hormone that plays a vital role in the regulation of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. After removal of the precursor signal peptide, proinsulin is post-translationally cleaved into three peptides: the B chain and A chain peptides, which are covalently linked via two disulfide bonds to form insulin, and C-peptide. Binding of insulin to the insulin receptor (INSR) stimulates glucose uptake. A multitude of mutant alleles with phenotypic effects have been identified, including insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, permanent neonatal diabetes diabetes mellitus, maturity-onset diabetes of the young type 10 and hyperproinsulinemia. There is a read-through gene, INS-IGF2, which overlaps with this gene at the 5' region and with the IGF2 gene at the 3' region.
