The Anti-HBG1 Antibody (CAB0670) is a high-quality research tool designed for studying HBG1, a crucial protein involved in hemoglobin synthesis and fetal hemoglobin production. This polyclonal antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits exceptional reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in various applications including Western blotting. By targeting the HBG1 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a wide range of cell types, making it an essential tool for researchers in the fields of hematology and molecular biology.HBG1, also known as fetal hemoglobin subunit gamma-1, plays a pivotal role in the production of fetal hemoglobin during prenatal development.
Its importance in hemoglobin synthesis and oxygen transport makes it a key focus of research in understanding blood disorders and genetic conditions affecting hemoglobin production. The Anti-HBG1 Antibody provides researchers with a valuable tool for investigating the functions and regulatory mechanisms of HBG1, advancing our knowledge of hemoglobin biology and its implications for clinical research and therapeutic development.

The gamma globin genes (HBG1 and HBG2) are normally expressed in the fetal liver, spleen and bone marrow. Two gamma chains together with two alpha chains constitute fetal hemoglobin (HbF) which is normally replaced by adult hemoglobin (HbA) at birth. In some beta-thalassemias and related conditions, gamma chain production continues into adulthood. The two types of gamma chains differ at residue 136 where glycine is found in the G-gamma product (HBG2) and alanine is found in the A-gamma product (HBG1). The former is predominant at birth. The order of the genes in the beta-globin cluster is: 5'-epsilon -- gamma-G -- gamma-A -- delta -- beta--3'. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
