The Anti-GALNT7 Antibody (CAB20259) is a polyclonal antibody designed for research involving GALNT7, an enzyme involved in protein glycosylation. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly reactive with human samples and is validated for use in various applications including Western blot and immunohistochemistry.GALNT7, also known as polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 7, plays a critical role in post-translational modification of proteins by adding sugar molecules. Dysregulation of GALNT7 has been associated with various diseases including cancer, diabetes, and neurodegenerative disorders.
Understanding the function and expression of GALNT7 is important for elucidating its role in these disease processes and may lead to the development of targeted therapies. The Anti-GALNT7 Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying protein glycosylation, disease mechanisms, and potential therapeutic targets. Its high reactivity and specificity make it suitable for a wide range of experimental settings, making it an essential addition to any laboratory focused on advancing our understanding of GALNT7 biology.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 30-130 of human GALNT7 (NP_059119.2).
This gene encodes GalNAc transferase 7, a member of the GalNAc-transferase family. The enzyme encoded by this gene controls the initiation step of mucin-type O-linked protein glycosylation and transfer of N-acetylgalactosamine to serine and threonine amino acid residues. This enzyme is a type II transmembrane protein and shares common sequence motifs with other family members. Unlike other family members, this enzyme shows exclusive specificity for partially GalNAc-glycosylated acceptor substrates and shows no activity with non-glycosylated peptides. This protein may function as a follow-up enzyme in the initiation step of O-glycosylation.
