The G6PC Polyclonal Antibody (CAB20193) is a vital tool for researchers studying the enzyme glucose-6-phosphatase (G6PC), which plays a crucial role in glucose homeostasis and glycogenolysis. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the G6PC protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for investigations in metabolic disorders, diabetes, and liver diseases.G6PC is an essential enzyme involved in the process of gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis, crucial for maintaining blood glucose levels within a normal range.
Dysregulation of G6PC activity has been linked to various metabolic disorders, making it a key target for therapeutic interventions. Understanding the function of G6PC is essential for developing strategies to treat diseases related to glucose metabolism and liver function. By using the G6PC Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can further explore the role of this enzyme in health and disease, advancing our knowledge in the field of metabolic research.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-112 of mouse G6PC (NP_032087.2).
The enzyme encoded by this gene is a multisubunit integral membrane protein of the endoplasmic reticulum that is composed of a catalytic subunit and transporters for glucose-6-phosphate, inorganic phosphate, and glucose. This gene is one of three glucose-6-phosphatase catalytic-subunit-encoding genes in mouse. Glucose-6-phosphatase catalyzes the hydrolysis of D-glucose 6-phosphate to D-glucose and orthophosphate and is a key enzyme in glucose homeostasis, functioning in gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis. Mutations in this gene cause glycogen storage disease type I (GSD1).
