The Anti-Fibrillarin Antibody (CAB0850) is a valuable tool for researchers studying fibrillarin, a key protein involved in ribosome biogenesis and RNA processing. This polyclonal antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in various applications, including Western blotting.Fibrillarin is a nucleolar protein essential for the synthesis of ribosomal RNA and the processing of small nucleolar RNAs. It plays a crucial role in maintaining cell growth and proliferation, making it a target of interest in cancer research and other diseases characterized by abnormal cell growth.
By specifically binding to fibrillarin, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of the protein in different cell types, providing valuable insights into its function and potential implications in various physiological and pathological processes. Researchers in the fields of molecular biology, cell biology, and oncology will find this antibody to be an essential tool for their studies into the role of fibrillarin in health and disease.

This gene product is a component of a nucleolar small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) particle thought to participate in the first step in processing preribosomal RNA. It is associated with the U3, U8, and U13 small nuclear RNAs and is located in the dense fibrillar component (DFC) of the nucleolus. The encoded protein contains an N-terminal repetitive domain that is rich in glycine and arginine residues, like fibrillarins in other species. Its central region resembles an RNA-binding domain and contains an RNP consensus sequence. Antisera from approximately 8% of humans with the autoimmune disease scleroderma recognize fibrillarin.
