The Anti-COX6B1 Antibody (CAB2228) is a vital tool for researchers studying COX6B1, an essential subunit of cytochrome c oxidase (COX) involved in mitochondrial respiration. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the COX6B1 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an excellent choice for research in the fields of bioenergetics, metabolism, and mitochondrial dysfunction.COX6B1 is a crucial component of the electron transport chain, playing a vital role in oxidative phosphorylation and ATP production within mitochondria.
Dysregulation of COX6B1 has been implicated in various diseases, including metabolic disorders, neurodegenerative conditions, and cancer. Investigating the function and expression of COX6B1 using this antibody can provide valuable insights into mitochondrial function and its relevance to health and disease.Researchers focused on understanding mitochondrial biology, energy metabolism, and the mechanisms underlying mitochondrial diseases stand to benefit greatly from the precision and specificity of the Anti-COX6B1 Antibody (CAB2228). Its versatility and reliability make it an indispensable tool for advancing research in these critical areas.

Immunogen:
A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 1-86 of human COX6B1 (P14854).
Cytochrome c oxidase (COX), the terminal enzyme of the mitochondrial respiratory chain, catalyzes the electron transfer from reduced cytochrome c to oxygen. It is a heteromeric complex consisting of 3 catalytic subunits encoded by mitochondrial genes and multiple structural subunits encoded by nuclear genes. The mitochondrially-encoded subunits function in electron transfer, and the nuclear-encoded subunits may be involved in the regulation and assembly of the complex. This nuclear gene encodes subunit VIb. Mutations in this gene are associated with severe infantile encephalomyopathy. Three pseudogenes COX6BP-1, COX6BP-2 and COX6BP-3 have been found on chromosomes 7, 17 and 22q13.1-13.2, respectively.
