The CLDN18-2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB20420) is a vital tool for researchers studying the CLDN18-2 protein, a key player in tight junction formation and epithelial barrier function. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been thoroughly validated for Western blot applications. By targeting the CLDN18-2 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an indispensable tool for investigations in gastrointestinal biology, cancer research, and beyond.
CLDN18-2 is a crucial component of tight junctions in epithelial cells, playing a vital role in maintaining tissue integrity and regulating paracellular permeability. Dysregulation of CLDN18-2 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and inflammatory bowel disease, underscoring its importance in physiological and pathological processes. Investigating the function of CLDN18-2 with the help of this antibody can offer valuable insights into disease mechanisms and aid in the development of targeted therapies.
Product Name:
Claudin18.2 Monoclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB20420
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human
Immunogen:
A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 1-100 of human CLDN18.2 (P56856-2).
This gene encodes a member of the claudin family. Claudins are integral membrane proteins and components of tight junction strands. Tight junction strands serve as a physical barrier to prevent solutes and water from passing freely through the paracellular space between epithelial or endothelial cell sheets, and also play critical roles in maintaining cell polarity and signal transductions. This gene is upregulated in patients with ulcerative colitis and highly overexpressed in infiltrating ductal adenocarcinomas. PKC/MAPK/AP-1 (protein kinase C/mitogen-activated protein kinase/activator protein-1) dependent pathway regulates the expression of this gene in gastric cells. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
