The Caveolin-2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB20549) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Caveolin-2, a protein involved in cellular signaling and lipid transport. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications.Caveolin-2 is a structural component of caveolae, small invaginations in the plasma membrane that play a role in various cellular processes, including endocytosis, signal transduction, and cholesterol homeostasis. Studies have shown that Caveolin-2 is implicated in cancer progression, cardiovascular diseases, and neurodegenerative disorders, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions.
By using the Caveolin-2 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can detect and analyze the expression of Caveolin-2 in different cell types, providing valuable insights into its functions and potential implications in disease pathogenesis. This antibody is a valuable tool for investigations in cell biology, molecular biology, and disease research.

The protein encoded by this gene is a major component of the inner surface of caveolae, small invaginations of the plasma membrane, and is involved in essential cellular functions, including signal transduction, lipid metabolism, cellular growth control and apoptosis. This protein may function as a tumor suppressor. This gene and related family member (CAV1) are located next to each other on chromosome 7, and express colocalizing proteins that form a stable hetero-oligomeric complex. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene. Additional isoforms resulting from the use of alternate in-frame translation initiation codons have also been described, and shown to have preferential localization in the cell (PMID:11238462).
