The Banf1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB3726) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Banf1, a protein involved in chromatin organization and gene regulation. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific to human Banf1 and is suitable for use in various applications such as Western blot and immunofluorescence.Banf1, also known as Barrier to autointegration factor 1, is essential for nuclear envelope integrity and chromatin structure maintenance. Dysregulation of Banf1 has been linked to various diseases including cancer and neurological disorders.
The Banf1 Polyclonal Antibody enables researchers to explore the role of Banf1 in these conditions and could help uncover potential therapeutic targets.By providing reliable and sensitive detection of Banf1, this antibody is a valuable tool for studies in molecular biology, oncology, and neurology. Its versatility and specificity make it a crucial component in understanding the functions of Banf1 and its implications in human health and disease.

The protein encoded by this gene was first identified by its ability to protect retroviruses from intramolecular integration and therefore promote intermolecular integration into the host cell genome. The protein forms a homodimer which localizes to both the nucleus and cytoplasm and is specifically associated with chromosomes during mitosis. This protein binds to double stranded DNA in a non-specific manner and also binds to LEM-domain containing proteins of the nuclear envelope. This protein is thought to facilitate nuclear reassembly by binding with both DNA and inner nuclear membrane proteins and thereby recruit chromatin to the nuclear periphery. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein.
