The ACC1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB20183) is a key tool for researchers studying acetyl-CoA carboxylase 1 (ACC1), an enzyme that plays a crucial role in fatty acid biosynthesis and energy metabolism. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human ACC1 and is validated for use in Western blotting applications.ACC1 is a key enzyme in lipid metabolism, catalyzing the carboxylation of acetyl-CoA to malonyl-CoA, a critical step in the synthesis of fatty acids. Dysregulation of ACC1 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, obesity, and metabolic disorders.
Understanding the regulation and function of ACC1 is essential for developing targeted therapies for these conditions. The ACC1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB20183) enables researchers to detect and analyze ACC1 expression in different cell types, making it a valuable tool for studies in metabolism, cancer biology, and drug development. By studying the role of ACC1 in various diseases, researchers can gain valuable insights into potential therapeutic targets and pathways for intervention.

Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) is a complex multifunctional enzyme system. ACC is a biotin-containing enzyme which catalyzes the carboxylation of acetyl-CoA to malonyl-CoA, the rate-limiting step in fatty acid synthesis. There are two ACC forms, alpha and beta, encoded by two different genes. ACC-alpha is highly enriched in lipogenic tissues. The enzyme is under long term control at the transcriptional and translational levels and under short term regulation by the phosphorylation/dephosphorylation of targeted serine residues and by allosteric transformation by citrate or palmitoyl-CoA. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants divergent in the 5' sequence and encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene.
