The ANAPC5 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB7109) is a valuable tool for researchers studying ANAPC5, a key subunit of the anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C) involved in cell cycle regulation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blotting applications. By targeting the ANAPC5 protein, this antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential component in cell biology and cancer research studies. As a crucial component of the APC/C complex, ANAPC5 plays a vital role in promoting the degradation of specific cell cycle proteins during mitosis and maintaining genomic stability.
Dysregulation of the APC/C complex, including ANAPC5, has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and developmental disorders. By investigating the function and regulation of ANAPC5, researchers can gain insights into the underlying mechanisms of these diseases and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets for intervention.

This gene encodes a tetratricopeptide repeat-containing component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a large E3 ubiquitin ligase that controls cell cycle progression by targeting a number of cell cycle regulators such as B-type cyclins for 26S proteasome-mediated degradation through ubiquitination. The encoded protein is required for the proper ubiquitination function of APC/C and for the interaction of APC/C with transcription coactivators. It also interacts with polyA binding protein and represses internal ribosome entry site-mediated translation. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. These differences cause translation initiation at a downstream AUG and result in a shorter protein (isoform b), compared to isoform a.
