The AMPK-1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB21813) is a valuable tool for researchers studying AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), a key regulator of cellular energy balance and metabolism. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific and reacts with human samples, making it suitable for a variety of applications including Western blot analysis.AMPK is a central player in cellular energy sensing and regulation, playing a critical role in maintaining cellular homeostasis in response to changes in nutrient availability and energy levels. Dysregulation of AMPK has been associated with a number of metabolic disorders, making it an important target for therapeutic research.
This polyclonal antibody binds specifically to the AMPK-1 protein, allowing for accurate detection and analysis in various cell types and tissues. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal tool for investigating the role of AMPK in metabolic diseases, cancer, and other conditions where energy balance is disrupted.By studying the activity and regulation of AMPK using this antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying metabolic disorders and potentially identify new therapeutic targets for the treatment of these conditions.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 100-200 of human AMPKα1 (NP_006242.5).
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the ser/thr protein kinase family. It is the catalytic subunit of the 5'-prime-AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). AMPK is a cellular energy sensor conserved in all eukaryotic cells. The kinase activity of AMPK is activated by the stimuli that increase the cellular AMP/ATP ratio. AMPK regulates the activities of a number of key metabolic enzymes through phosphorylation. It protects cells from stresses that cause ATP depletion by switching off ATP-consuming biosynthetic pathways. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed.
