Description
AMPKα1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB21744)
The AMPK-1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB21744) is a specialized antibody designed for research involving the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), a key player in cellular energy homeostasis and metabolism regulation. This antibody, produced through rabbit immunization, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the AMPK-1 protein, researchers can effectively detect and analyze AMPK activity in various cellular contexts.AMPK is a crucial regulator of cellular energy balance and is involved in various physiological processes, including glucose uptake, fatty acid oxidation, and autophagy. Dysregulation of AMPK activity has been implicated in a range of metabolic disorders, such as diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular diseases.
Research into AMPK function is essential for developing therapeutic interventions targeting metabolic dysfunction and related pathologies. The AMPK-1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB21744) provides researchers with a powerful tool for investigating the role of AMPK in cellular metabolism, energy regulation, and disease pathogenesis. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an invaluable asset for studies in the fields of metabolism, diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular research. By utilizing this antibody, scientists can gain valuable insights into the intricate mechanisms underlying cellular energy balance and metabolic diseases.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the ser/thr protein kinase family. It is the catalytic subunit of the 5'-prime-AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). AMPK is a cellular energy sensor conserved in all eukaryotic cells. The kinase activity of AMPK is activated by the stimuli that increase the cellular AMP/ATP ratio. AMPK regulates the activities of a number of key metabolic enzymes through phosphorylation. It protects cells from stresses that cause ATP depletion by switching off ATP-consuming biosynthetic pathways. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed.
