The AMACR Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1130) is a powerful tool for research involving alpha-methylacyl-CoA racemase (AMACR), an enzyme involved in fatty acid metabolism and implicated in various cancers, including prostate cancer. This polyclonal antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human AMACR and has been validated for use in applications such as Western blot and immunohistochemistry.AMACR is a key enzyme in the beta-oxidation pathway of fatty acids and is overexpressed in prostate cancer, making it a potential diagnostic and therapeutic target. The AMACR Polyclonal Antibody binds specifically to the AMACR protein, allowing for precise detection and analysis in tissue samples and cell lines.
Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an essential tool for studies in cancer research and biomarker discovery.By targeting AMACR, researchers can gain insights into the role of this enzyme in cancer development and progression, as well as its potential as a therapeutic target. The AMACR Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable resource for advancing our understanding of AMACR biology and its implications in cancer diagnostics and treatment strategies.

This gene encodes a racemase. The encoded enzyme interconverts pristanoyl-CoA and C27-bile acylCoAs between their (R)- and (S)-stereoisomers. The conversion to the (S)-stereoisomers is necessary for degradation of these substrates by peroxisomal beta-oxidation. Encoded proteins from this locus localize to both mitochondria and peroxisomes. Mutations in this gene may be associated with adult-onset sensorimotor neuropathy, pigmentary retinopathy, and adrenomyeloneuropathy due to defects in bile acid synthesis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described. Read-through transcription also exists between this gene and the upstream neighboring C1QTNF3 (C1q and tumor necrosis factor related protein 3) gene.
