The ALG2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB7843) is a valuable tool for researchers studying ALG2, a protein involved in various cellular processes such as apoptosis and calcium homeostasis. This antibody, produced in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the ALG2 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential component for research in cell biology and molecular biology.
ALG2 is known for its role in apoptosis regulation and calcium signaling, making it a key player in cellular survival mechanisms. Research into ALG2 has implications for understanding diseases such as neurodegeneration, cancer, and metabolic disorders, where dysregulation of apoptosis and calcium signaling are common features. By targeting ALG2, researchers can uncover new insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying these diseases and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets for intervention.

Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 197-416 of human ALG2 (NP_149078.1).
This gene encodes a member of the glycosyltransferase 1 family. The encoded protein acts as an alpha 1,3 mannosyltransferase, mannosylating Man(2)GlcNAc(2)-dolichol diphosphate and Man(1)GlcNAc(2)-dolichol diphosphate to form Man(3)GlcNAc(2)-dolichol diphosphate. Defects in this gene have been associated with congenital disorder of glycosylation type Ih (CDG-Ii). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
