The ALDH3A1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB13275) is a valuable tool for researchers studying ALDH3A1, an enzyme involved in cellular detoxification and protection against oxidative stress. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for human samples, making it ideal for use in various research applications, such as Western blotting.ALDH3A1 is a member of the aldehyde dehydrogenase family, known for its role in detoxifying reactive aldehydes and metabolizing lipid peroxidation products. Its upregulation has been linked to resistance to chemotherapeutic agents and oxidative stress-induced cell death in cancer cells.
By targeting ALDH3A1, researchers can gain insights into mechanisms of drug resistance and potential therapeutic strategies for cancer treatment. With its ability to specifically detect and bind to ALDH3A1 protein, this polyclonal antibody enables researchers to analyze the expression levels and localization of ALDH3A1 in cells and tissues. By understanding the functions and regulation of ALDH3A1, scientists can uncover its potential as a target for cancer therapy and explore its implications in oxidative stress-related diseases.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-300 of human ALDH3A1 (NP_001128640.1).
Aldehyde dehydrogenases oxidize various aldehydes to the corresponding acids. They are involved in the detoxification of alcohol-derived acetaldehyde and in the metabolism of corticosteroids, biogenic amines, neurotransmitters, and lipid peroxidation. The enzyme encoded by this gene forms a cytoplasmic homodimer that preferentially oxidizes aromatic and medium-chain (6 carbons or more) saturated and unsaturated aldehyde substrates. It is thought to promote resistance to UV and 4-hydroxy-2-nonenal-induced oxidative damage in the cornea. The gene is located within the Smith-Magenis syndrome region on chromosome 17. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.
