The AKR1C4 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB7430) is a valuable tool for researchers studying AKR1C4, a key enzyme involved in the metabolism of steroids and prostaglandins. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the AKR1C4 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an excellent choice for studies in biochemistry and endocrinology.
AKR1C4 plays a crucial role in the regulation of steroid hormones and prostaglandins, making it a critical target for research related to hormone metabolism, reproductive biology, and cancer biology. Understanding the function of AKR1C4 is essential for developing new therapies and interventions for conditions like hormone-dependent cancers and endocrine disorders. The AKR1C4 Polyclonal Antibody provides a reliable tool for investigating the role of this enzyme in health and disease.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-323 of human AKR1C4 (NP_001809.3).
This gene encodes a member of the aldo/keto reductase superfamily, which consists of more than 40 known enzymes and proteins. These enzymes catalyze the conversion of aldehydes and ketones to their corresponding alcohols by utilizing NADH and/or NADPH as cofactors. The enzymes display overlapping but distinct substrate specificity. This enzyme catalyzes the bioreduction of chlordecone, a toxic organochlorine pesticide, to chlordecone alcohol in liver. This gene shares high sequence identity with three other gene members and is clustered with those three genes at chromosome 10p15-p14.
