The AKAP5 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6520) is a valuable tool for researchers studying AKAP5, a protein involved in the regulation of intracellular signaling pathways. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high specificity towards human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the AKAP5 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of AKAP5 levels in various cell types, making it ideal for research in molecular biology and cell signaling.AKAP5, also known as A-kinase anchor protein 5, plays a crucial role in the spatial and temporal regulation of protein kinase A (PKA) signaling, which is involved in a wide range of cellular processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, and metabolism.
Dysregulation of AKAP5 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and neurological disorders. By understanding the function of AKAP5, researchers can potentially develop targeted therapies for these conditions.Overall, the AKAP5 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6520) is a valuable tool for studying the role of AKAP5 in cellular signaling pathways and the development of diseases, allowing for further insights into potential therapeutic interventions.

The A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are a group of structurally diverse proteins, which have the common function of binding to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA) and confining the holoenzyme to discrete locations within the cell. This gene encodes a member of the AKAP family. The encoded protein binds to the RII-beta regulatory subunit of PKA, and also to protein kinase C and the phosphatase calcineurin. It is predominantly expressed in cerebral cortex and may anchor the PKA protein at postsynaptic densities (PSD) and be involved in the regulation of postsynaptic events. It is also expressed in T lymphocytes and may function to inhibit interleukin-2 transcription by disrupting calcineurin-dependent dephosphorylation of NFAT.
