Description
AIFM1 Monoclonal Antibody [PAT22E9AT] (CPAB0652)
The AIFM1 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0652) is a valuable tool for researchers studying AIFM1, a protein involved in mitochondrial dynamics and apoptosis. This antibody, generated in rabbits, specifically targets human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the AIFM1 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of AIFM1 in various cell types, making it ideal for research in the fields of cell biology and apoptosis.
AIFM1, also known as apoptosis-inducing factor, plays a crucial role in regulating programmed cell death and maintaining mitochondrial function. Dysregulation of AIFM1 has been implicated in various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and cancer. By investigating the function of AIFM1, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms of cell death and potentially develop novel therapeutic strategies for treating related diseases.

Background: | Apoptosis-Inducing Factor, Mitochondrion-Associated, 1 (AIFM1) is a mitochondrial protein which translocates to the nucleus once apoptosis has been initiated. AIFM1 causes DNA fragmentation and chromatin condensation and also triggers the release of cytochrome c and caspase-9 from mitochondria. Bcl-2 overexpression prevents the release of AIFM1 from mitochondria, but doesn't block its apoptogenic activity. |
