The AGTR1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB14201) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AGTR1), a key player in the renin-angiotensin system involved in regulating blood pressure and fluid balance. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human AGTR1 and has been validated for use in Western blotting applications.AGTR1 is a G-protein-coupled receptor that mediates the effects of angiotensin II, a hormone that constricts blood vessels and increases blood pressure. Dysregulation of AGTR1 signaling has been implicated in cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension and heart failure, making it a promising target for drug development.
By using the AGTR1 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can investigate the expression levels and localization of AGTR1 in different cell types and tissues, providing valuable insights into its function in health and disease. This antibody is a valuable tool for studies in cardiovascular physiology, pharmacology, and drug discovery aimed at targeting the renin-angiotensin system.

Angiotensin II is a potent vasopressor hormone and a primary regulator of aldosterone secretion. It is an important effector controlling blood pressure and volume in the cardiovascular system. It acts through at least two types of receptors. This gene encodes the type 1 receptor which is thought to mediate the major cardiovascular effects of angiotensin II. This gene may play a role in the generation of reperfusion arrhythmias following restoration of blood flow to ischemic or infarcted myocardium. It was previously thought that a related gene, denoted as AGTR1B, existed; however, it is now believed that there is only one type 1 receptor gene in humans. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants.
