The AGR3 Polyclonal Antibody (PAC01531) is specifically designed for research involving AGR3, a key protein associated with cancer progression and metastasis. This high-quality antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits strong reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the AGR3 protein, researchers can effectively detect and analyze its expression in various cell types, making this antibody an essential tool for studies in oncology and cancer biology.
AGR3, also known as anterior gradient protein 3, is a biomarker with significant implications in cancer research, particularly in understanding tumor growth and spread. Its role in promoting metastasis and drug resistance underscores its potential as a therapeutic target for developing anti-cancer strategies. Investigating the function of AGR3 is essential for advancing our knowledge of cancer biology and identifying novel treatment approaches to combat this deadly disease.

Background:
Anterior gradient protein 3 homolog is a protein that in humans is encoded by the AGR3 gene. The deduced 166-amino acid, protein has an N-terminal signal sequence. Fluorescence-tagged BCMP11 localized in secretory or endosome-like organelles in transfected breast carcinoma cell lines. Immunohistochemical analysis showed that expression of BCMP11 was restricted in normal tissues, with significant staining of only the epithelial lining of colonic mucosa. However, BCMP11 was detected in 43 of 58 (74%) breast cancer tissues tested, but not in normal breast ductal epithelial cells. In cancerous epithelial cells, BCMP11 localized to the cytoplasm.
