The AF-Le Purified Mouse CD8a Monoclonal Antibody (53-7.6) (AGEL1331) from Assay Genie is a highly specific antibody designed for research applications involving CD8a, a cell surface glycoprotein expressed on cytotoxic T cells. This monoclonal antibody, generated from mouse cells, is proven to be robust and reliable in various experimental techniques such as flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry.CD8a plays a pivotal role in immune responses by identifying and killing infected or abnormal cells, making it a crucial marker for studying T cell function and activity. The AF-Le Purified Mouse CD8a Monoclonal Antibody (53-7.6) (AGEL1331) is ideal for investigating the expression and localization of CD8a in different tissues and cell populations, offering researchers valuable insights into immune system function and response mechanisms.
With its high specificity and sensitivity, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis of CD8a in diverse experimental settings, making it a valuable tool for immunologists, oncologists, and researchers studying immune-mediated diseases. By targeting CD8a, researchers can deepen their understanding of T cell biology and potentially develop novel therapeutic strategies for conditions like cancer, infectious diseases, and autoimmune disorders.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 2.0 µg per 106 cells in 100 µL volume or 100 µL of whole blood. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Background:
CD8, also known as Lyt-2, Ly-2, or T8, consists of disulfide-linked α and β chains that form the α(CD8a)/β(CD8b) heterodimer and α/α homodimer. CD8a is a 34 kD protein that belongs to the immunoglobulin family. The CD8 α/β heterodimer is expressed on the surface of most thymocytes and a subset of mature TCR α/β T cells. CD8 expression on mature T cells is non-overlapping with CD4. The CD8 α/α homodimer is expressed on a subset of γ/δ TCR-bearing T cells, NK cells, intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes, and lymphoid dendritic cells. CD8 is an antigen co-receptor on T cells that interacts with MHC class I on antigen-presenting cells or epithelial cells. CD8 promotes T cell activation through its association with the TCR complex and protein tyrosine kinase lck.
