The Purified Human/Monkey CD154 Monoclonal Antibody (5C8) is a powerful tool for researchers studying immune responses and cell surface molecules. This monoclonal antibody, designated AGEL1603, is highly specific for CD154, also known as CD40 ligand, a key player in immune activation and regulation. Originating from mouse hybridoma cells, this antibody is particularly effective in recognizing and targeting CD154 in both human and monkey samples.CD154, a crucial signaling molecule expressed on activated T cells, is involved in the activation and differentiation of various immune cells. By binding to CD40 on antigen-presenting cells, CD154 plays a pivotal role in immune responses, including T cell activation, antibody production, and cytokine release.
The precise targeting and detection of CD154 with this monoclonal antibody enable researchers to explore the intricate mechanisms underlying immune regulation and modulation. This purified monoclonal antibody opens avenues for investigations in immunology, vaccine development, and autoimmune diseases. By facilitating the detection and manipulation of CD154, researchers can deepen their understanding of immune signaling pathways and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets for conditions such as autoimmunity, infections, and inflammatory disorders. With its high specificity and reliability, the Purified Human/Monkey CD154 Monoclonal Antibody (5C8) is a valuable asset for advancing research in immunology and related fields.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 1.0 µg per 106 cells in 100 µL volume or 100 µL of whole blood. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Background:
CD154 (CD40 ligand) is also known as CD40L, gp39, TRAP and T-BAM. CD40 ligand is a 32-39 kD type II transmembrane glycoprotein. It is a member of the TNF superfamily and is expressed on activated T cells. It has been reported to be important for B cell costimulation following binding of its receptor, CD40. Additionally, binding of CD40L to CD40 on B cells promotes the secretion of immunoglobulin and Ig isotype switching. CD40L is also involved in the regulation of cytokine production by T cells.
