The ADH4 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5454) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the ADH4 protein, a member of the alcohol dehydrogenase family that plays a crucial role in ethanol metabolism. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific to human ADH4 samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the ADH4 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for studies in biochemistry and pharmacology.ADH4 is known for its ability to metabolize alcohol, playing a key role in the breakdown of ethanol in the liver.
Understanding the function of ADH4 is essential for research on alcohol metabolism, alcohol-related liver diseases, and the development of new treatments for alcohol use disorders. The ADH4 Polyclonal Antibody offers researchers a reliable tool for investigating the expression and activity of ADH4 in different biological contexts, contributing to advancements in the fields of alcohol research and drug development.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-380 of human ADH4 (NP_000661.2).
This gene encodes class II alcohol dehydrogenase 4 pi subunit, which is a member of the alcohol dehydrogenase family. Members of this enzyme family metabolize a wide variety of substrates, including ethanol, retinol, other aliphatic alcohols, hydroxysteroids, and lipid peroxidation products. Class II alcohol dehydrogenase is a homodimer composed of 2 pi subunits. It exhibits a high activity for oxidation of long-chain aliphatic alcohols and aromatic alcohols and is less sensitive to pyrazole. This gene is localized to chromosome 4 in the cluster of alcohol dehydrogenase genes.
