Description
ADAMTS5 Monoclonal Antibody (CAB23125)
The ADAMTS5 Monoclonal Antibody is a powerful tool for researchers studying ADAMTS5, a member of the ADAMTS (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase with Thrombospondin motifs) family of enzymes involved in extracellular matrix degradation. This antibody, developed using advanced monoclonal antibody technology, specifically targets ADAMTS5 in human samples and is validated for use in a variety of research applications, including Western blotting and immunofluorescence.ADAMTS5 is known for its role in the breakdown of aggrecan, a key component of cartilage, and is implicated in the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis and other joint-related disorders. By targeting ADAMTS5 with this monoclonal antibody, researchers can gain insights into its expression patterns, activity, and potential as a therapeutic target for musculoskeletal conditions.
This antibody allows for precise detection and analysis of ADAMTS5 in various biological samples, aiding in the understanding of its function and contribution to disease processes.Overall, the ADAMTS5 Monoclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers investigating the role of ADAMTS5 in cartilage degradation and joint diseases. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an essential reagent for studies aimed at unraveling the complex mechanisms underlying these conditions and exploring potential therapeutic interventions.

This gene encodes a member of the ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs) protein family. Members of the family share several distinct protein modules, including a propeptide region, a metalloproteinase domain, a disintegrin-like domain, and a thrombospondin type 1 (TS) motif. Individual members of this family differ in the number of C-terminal TS motifs, and some have unique C-terminal domains. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature enzyme. This enzyme contains two C-terminal TS motifs and functions as an aggrecanase that cleaves aggrecan, a major proteoglycan of cartilage, and may mediate cartilage destruction in osteoarthritis.
