Description
ACTN1 Monoclonal Antibody [PAT1D10AT] (CPAB0641)
The ACTN1 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0641) is a valuable tool for researchers studying ACTN1, a key protein involved in cell structure and function. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the ACTN1 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an ideal choice for investigations in cell biology and cancer research.ACTN1, also known as alpha-actinin-1, plays a crucial role in maintaining cell shape, adhesion, and movement by connecting the cytoskeleton to the cell membrane.
Dysregulation of ACTN1 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, muscular dystrophy, and neurological disorders. Understanding the function and regulation of ACTN1 is essential for developing targeted therapies and interventions for these conditions.Overall, the ACTN1 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0641) provides researchers with a reliable tool for studying the role of ACTN1 in cellular processes and disease pathogenesis, ultimately advancing our understanding of molecular mechanisms and potential therapeutic strategies.

Background: | ACTN1 encodes a nonmuscle, cytoskeletal, alpha actinin isoform and maps to the same site as the structurally similar erythroid beta spectrin gene. Alpha actinins belong to the spectrin gene superfamily which represents a diverse group of cytoskeletal proteins, including the alpha and beta spectrins and dystrophins. Alpha actinin is an actin-binding protein with multiple roles in different cell types. In nonmuscle cells, the cytoskeletal isoform is found along microfilament bundles and adherens-type junctions, where it is involved in binding actin to the membrane. In contrast, skeletal, cardiac, and smooth muscle isoforms are localized to the Z-disc and analogous dense bodies, where they help anchor the myofibrillar actin filaments. |
