Activator protein 2 (AP-2/TFAP2A) Polyclonal Antibody (CAB21727)
The Activator Protein 2 (AP-2) / TFAP2A Polyclonal Antibody is a powerful tool for researchers studying the activity of the AP-2 transcription factor TFAP2A. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the AP-2 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of TFAP2A in a variety of cell types, making it an essential tool for investigations in molecular biology and cancer research.TFAP2A is a key transcription factor that regulates the expression of genes involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis.
Its role in controlling cellular processes makes it a critical target for understanding various diseases, including cancer. By utilizing the AP-2/TFAP2A Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the mechanisms by which TFAP2A functions, potentially leading to new therapeutic strategies for treating cancer and other diseases impacted by dysregulated gene expression.

The protein encoded by this gene is a transcription factor that binds the consensus sequence 5'-GCCNNNGGC-3'. The encoded protein functions as either a homodimer or as a heterodimer with similar family members. This protein activates the transcription of some genes while inhibiting the transcription of others. Defects in this gene are a cause of branchiooculofacial syndrome (BOFS). Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
