The ACP1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12390) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the ACP1 protein, a key enzyme involved in the regulation of cellular signaling pathways. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity towards human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the ACP1 protein, this antibody allows for precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an excellent choice for studies in biochemistry, molecular biology, and signal transduction research.
ACP1, also known as acid phosphatase, is essential for the regulation of important signaling molecules within the cell, such as inositol phospholipids. Dysregulation of ACP1 activity has been implicated in various disease processes, including cancer, metabolic disorders, and neurological conditions. By understanding the functions and pathways modulated by ACP1, researchers can gain insights into the underlying mechanisms of these diseases and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets for intervention.

The product of this gene belongs to the phosphotyrosine protein phosphatase family of proteins. It functions as an acid phosphatase and a protein tyrosine phosphatase by hydrolyzing protein tyrosine phosphate to protein tyrosine and orthophosphate. This enzyme also hydrolyzes orthophosphoric monoesters to alcohol and orthophosphate. This gene is genetically polymorphic, and three common alleles segregating at the corresponding locus give rise to six phenotypes. Each allele appears to encode at least two electrophoretically different isozymes, Bf and Bs, which are produced in allele-specific ratios. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
