The ACOX2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12796) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the ACOX2 protein, an essential enzyme involved in fatty acid metabolism. This antibody is produced in rabbits and exhibits high reactivity with human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the ACOX2 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it a valuable asset for studies in metabolism, lipid biology, and related research areas.ACOX2, also known as peroxisomal acyl-coenzyme A oxidase 2, plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by catalyzing the breakdown of fatty acids into smaller molecules.
Dysregulation of ACOX2 has been implicated in metabolic disorders, fatty liver disease, and other conditions related to lipid imbalance. By understanding the function and regulation of ACOX2, researchers can gain insights into these diseases and potentially develop new therapeutic strategies targeting lipid metabolism pathways.Overall, the ACOX2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12796) offers researchers a reliable tool for investigating the role of ACOX2 in health and disease. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it a valuable asset for studies aiming to unravel the complex mechanisms of lipid metabolism and identify potential therapeutic targets for metabolic disorders.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-150 of human ACOX2 (NP_003491.1).
The product of this gene belongs to the acyl-CoA oxidase family. It encodes the branched-chain acyl-CoA oxidase which is involved in the degradation of long branched fatty acids and bile acid intermediates in peroxisomes. Deficiency of this enzyme results in the accumulation of branched fatty acids and bile acid intermediates, and may lead to Zellweger syndrome, severe cognitive disability, and death in children.
