The ACOX1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB8091) is a valuable tool for research involving ACOX1, an essential enzyme involved in fatty acid metabolism. This antibody, produced in rabbits, shows high sensitivity and specificity for human samples, making it suitable for various research applications, including Western blot analysis. ACOX1 plays a crucial role in the breakdown of fatty acids, particularly in the peroxisomes, and its dysregulation has been linked to various metabolic disorders, including fatty acid oxidation disorders.
By targeting ACOX1 with this antibody, researchers can study its expression levels and activity in different cell types, shedding light on its role in metabolic processes and potential implications for metabolic diseases.Investigating ACOX1 using this polyclonal antibody may provide valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying lipid metabolism and related disorders, paving the way for the development of therapeutic strategies targeting ACOX1 for the treatment of metabolic conditions.
Product Name:
ACOX1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB8091
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit
Reactivity:
Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-270 of human ACOX1 (NP_004026.2).
The protein encoded by this gene is the first enzyme of the fatty acid beta-oxidation pathway, which catalyzes the desaturation of acyl-CoAs to 2-trans-enoyl-CoAs. It donates electrons directly to molecular oxygen, thereby producing hydrogen peroxide. Defects in this gene result in pseudoneonatal adrenoleukodystrophy, a disease that is characterized by accumulation of very long chain fatty acids. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
Purification Method:
Affinity purification
Gene ID:
51
Storage Buffer:
Store at -20℃. Avoid freeze / thaw cycles.Buffer: PBS with 0.05% proclin300,50% glycerol,pH7.3.
