The ACC1 Polyclonal Antibody is a vital tool for researchers studying ACC1, a key enzyme involved in fatty acid synthesis and lipid metabolism. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity towards human samples and has been validated for use in Western blotting applications. By binding specifically to the ACC1 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an excellent choice for studies in metabolic disorders, cancer research, and lipid metabolism.ACC1, also known as acetyl-CoA carboxylase 1, plays a crucial role in cellular energy homeostasis by catalyzing the conversion of acetyl-CoA to malonyl-CoA, a key precursor in fatty acid synthesis.
Dysregulation of ACC1 has been implicated in various diseases, including obesity, diabetes, and cancer. Understanding the function of ACC1 is essential for developing targeted therapies to treat these conditions and improve metabolic health.Overall, the ACC1 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers seeking to explore the role of ACC1 in metabolic regulation and disease pathogenesis, offering the specificity and sensitivity needed for accurate and reliable analysis in a research setting.

Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) is a complex multifunctional enzyme system. ACC is a biotin-containing enzyme which catalyzes the carboxylation of acetyl-CoA to malonyl-CoA, the rate-limiting step in fatty acid synthesis. There are two ACC forms, alpha and beta, encoded by two different genes. ACC-alpha is highly enriched in lipogenic tissues. The enzyme is under long term control at the transcriptional and translational levels and under short term regulation by the phosphorylation/dephosphorylation of targeted serine residues and by allosteric transformation by citrate or palmitoyl-CoA. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants divergent in the 5' sequence and encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene.
