The ACADM Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1873) is a powerful tool for researchers studying the ACADM protein, a key enzyme involved in fatty acid metabolism. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the ACADM protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of ACADM in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for studies in metabolic disorders, mitochondrial diseases, and fatty acid oxidation disorders.
ACADM plays a crucial role in breaking down medium-chain fatty acids for energy production, making it essential for maintaining metabolic homeostasis. Dysregulation of ACADM has been implicated in various metabolic disorders, making it a valuable target for research into obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. Understanding the function of ACADM is essential for developing interventions that can correct its activity and restore metabolic balance in these conditions.
Product Name:
ACADM Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-220 of human ACADM (NP_000007.1).
This gene encodes the medium-chain specific (C4 to C12 straight chain) acyl-Coenzyme A dehydrogenase. The homotetramer enzyme catalyzes the initial step of the mitochondrial fatty acid beta-oxidation pathway. Defects in this gene cause medium-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency, a disease characterized by hepatic dysfunction, fasting hypoglycemia, and encephalopathy, which can result in infantile death. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
