The ABCG2 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CAB17908) is a valuable tool for research focused on the ABCG2 protein, a member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter family with a key role in multidrug resistance. This antibody, developed using rabbit monoclonal technology, offers high specificity and sensitivity for detecting ABCG2 in human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blot and immunohistochemistry applications.ABCG2, also known as breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP), is recognized for its involvement in drug efflux and resistance mechanisms, particularly in cancer cells.
The ability to accurately detect and monitor ABCG2 expression levels is essential for understanding its impact on drug resistance and developing strategies to overcome treatment challenges in cancer therapy.By utilizing the ABCG2 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CAB17908), researchers can delve deeper into the mechanisms underlying drug resistance, explore the potential of ABCG2 as a predictive biomarker for treatment response, and ultimately advance our knowledge of pharmacological interventions in cancer research.

The membrane-associated protein encoded by this gene is included in the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the White subfamily. Alternatively referred to as a breast cancer resistance protein, this protein functions as a xenobiotic transporter which may play a major role in multi-drug resistance. It likely serves as a cellular defense mechanism in response to mitoxantrone and anthracycline exposure. Significant expression of this protein has been observed in the placenta, which may suggest a potential role for this molecule in placenta tissue. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
