The ABCB4 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB9835) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the ATP-binding cassette sub-family B member 4 (ABCB4) protein. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and reactivity towards human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blot applications. ABCB4 is an important membrane protein involved in the transport of phospholipids across cell membranes, playing a crucial role in lipid homeostasis and bile secretion.
Dysregulation of ABCB4 activity has been associated with various liver diseases, including cholestasis and liver cancer. By targeting the ABCB4 protein, researchers can gain insights into its function and potential therapeutic applications for liver disorders. The ABCB4 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB9835) offers a reliable tool for the detection and analysis of ABCB4 in different cell types, facilitating studies in liver biology and disease pathogenesis.

The membrane-associated protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the MDR/TAP subfamily. Members of the MDR/TAP subfamily are involved in multidrug resistance as well as antigen presentation. This gene encodes a full transporter and member of the p-glycoprotein family of membrane proteins with phosphatidylcholine as its substrate. The function of this protein has not yet been determined; however, it may involve transport of phospholipids from liver hepatocytes into bile. Alternative splicing of this gene results in several products of undetermined function.
