The ABCB11 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB8467) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the ABCB11 protein, a key transporter involved in bile secretion and liver function. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the ABCB11 protein, it allows for the detection and analysis of this important transporter in various cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in liver biology and drug metabolism.ABCB11, also known as the bile salt export pump (BSEP), plays a crucial role in maintaining bile acid homeostasis and hepatic detoxification.
Dysregulation of ABCB11 function has been implicated in various liver diseases, including cholestasis and drug-induced liver injury. Therefore, a thorough understanding of ABCB11 activity is essential for the development of targeted therapies for these conditions.Overall, the ABCB11 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB8467) offers researchers a reliable tool for investigating the function and regulation of the ABCB11 protein in a variety of experimental settings, ultimately contributing to advancements in liver health and drug development.

The membrane-associated protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the MDR/TAP subfamily. Members of the MDR/TAP subfamily are involved in multidrug resistance. The protein encoded by this gene is the major canalicular bile salt export pump in man. Mutations in this gene cause a form of progressive familial intrahepatic cholestases which are a group of inherited disorders with severe cholestatic liver disease from early infancy.
